Hairless Chimp

Famous Chimp at the St. Louis Zoo. A rarity among Chimps.

  3. Dawn Treader...no editing here! The chimp lived into his 40's and sadly died last year. He had an autoimmune deficiency that left him hairless.

    I can't stop looking at him. Interesting bark on the tree as well.

  5. I think what was most interesting to me on this photo is the musculature. I had always heard that chimps are unbelievably strong but they always looked so cute with their fuzzy hair. Without the hair..you can clearly see the strength in those arms and legs.
