Not the best hiding spot...

Silly Heifer

Would you like to know why this little heifer is trying to hide?  You'll have to peek over to my other blog to see the rest of the story.

Under Cover Orangutan

Sometimes, when living in a Zoo, you must really wish there was some way to find cover from everybody's stare... (This picture has been edited in both PSP9 and Picasa 3.)

Trees can have curious coverings too..

J9

My name is Jeannine, and J9 is my nickname. I live in California, USA and have for my entire life.

I have been photographing the people an places around me since the age of 10. I still enjoy what I do, and have very willing subjects in my pets and children. I am always looking for ways to improve my photography and editing skills, and see what other people are working on. I have been following this blog for a couple of weeks and am envious of the extremely high quality of work here. I promise to try to live up to it!

I have a Photography business, J9Photo. And a Blog about my life, which also includes photos.

Not Good Camouflage

This was taken on a Home Guard day in town. The uniforms probably serve their purpose when hiding in the woods, but in the town square they are rather curious coverings. (We have lived in peace with our neighbour countries for a very long time and military is not a common sight in our streets.)

Once Upon A Time Wear

The boys found great delight in the clothing from days long gone by.

Rummaging through the closet, doors wide opened, welcoming little ones to become an a child from the 1800's; just for a little while.

Many strings, ties and hats; funny shoes, and tools of trade - they found in this place, on that day.

Not unusual finds...in the day of time, these clothes to cover us but to a modern day child, these clothes once appreciated have become costumes to create fun.

And...what fun it was.

Rebecca at The Dusty Cellar

I blog from Ambler PA. I have had a life long interest in photography but never had the time to pursue that interest. Recently 'retired' I can finally spend time learning and practicing. All my photos are taken with my 'ancient' Canon Rebel XT and kit lens or Canon 75-300mm zoom, but someday I'll have a macro lens and a 50mm lens and a.....oh you get the idea. Other interests include hiking, gardening, traveling, mountains, reading, genealogy, auctions and flea markets.

Cosy Colourful Covering

Now we got rid of the "strange" word, I'm happy to show you this shawl a friend brought me from Spain. Unusual, and I love it!!!

THIS WEEK'S THEME

A wonderful suggestion was received to mold this week's theme a little. I agree that labeling something as "strange clothing" would leave me feeling like I might need to apologize to someone. I mean, what's strange to me might not be strange to you.

So, I've changed the title for this week's theme to "Curious Coverings". This theme can be found in many different areas; like what people wear, unusual finds in nature, on cars, buildings, and other things...even food.

Moo?

I also want to remind everyone to ADD the WEEKLY THEME TITLE to your LABELS when posting. At the end of each week, I add a link to our sidebar that will enable friends to find the entire listing of photos for each theme. I also have the listing for each member's photos shared at the sidebar.

To our friends who visit:

We would like to invite you to become a member here with us and share your photos from your eye's view. Please don't feel as though you must be a top notch photographer to join. I'm not; nor would I consider myself to be a photographer. I simply love taking pictures and sharing what I see with the world.

Don't hesitate, just drop me a note and I'll reply with the very simple details. It really is easy to share in the fun; as easy as it is to post on your personal blog :)

Is this strange enough?

Me, Zach and Dad fishing in Canada...got caught out in the boat in a torrential downpour...one of the best memories of that trip! Taken in 2000 with a throw away and thankfully waterproof camera!

Ties and Stuff

I feel very unsure about this week's theme - what's the definition of "strange"?! - but decided that the ties in this market stand must definitely count. Some of the words printed on the ties would translate: Strong, See and enjoy, Best in test. And then there is one I had better not translate, because it would come out with more dubious meaning in English than in Swedish...  Anyway, if you do not like the ties, maybe you'll like the dog behind the counter, even if he (or possibly she) is not wearing any clothes at all.

Purple Barn...Honest!

Actually I am plagiarizing! My son took this over the weekend. The purple barn against the late Summer grass was hard to pass up. Honestly...no color manipulation on the barn...first purple barn I have ever seen!
