My wife and I have made wooden pictures since the early 80's. We have over 80 different designs and have made prints from two of the patterns. She usually draws and paints and I assemble them. However, I have created and painted some of them as well. This particular creation is about 3 feet by 4 feet and used as a wall hanging.

Snowy Town Street

After the previous heavy snowfall (the one 2½ weeks ago - we've had more since then!) I experimented with setting my digital camera on black-and-white for some pictures. This is one of them. I couldn't really find that it made a whole lot of a difference compared to turning colour photos into black-and-white afterwards by editing, though.

I took this picture from the car last weekend, going back from a visit to my dad who lives outside town. (Taken from the passenger's seat while my brother was driving.) A little blurry, but the photo came out better using black-and-white editing than the original colour. There isn't much colour in nature at the moment anyway!

We've had even more snow since then and they say we haven't seen the end of it yet...

I haven't had the opportunity to dig through my archives full of heart shaped wonders all over my world. Seriously, friends...everywhere that I turn, on a daily basis, I find a heart shaped something; from blocks of wood, to rocks, flowers and even chicken....

 

All week long..we've found things in the shape of a heart.  I haven't had time to capture them.  But I thought I'd tell you about it anyway.  This one was part of last night's dinner.
