This statue and monument is called the ruined (exhausted) city. It is in Rotterdam and made by the French Russian sculpturer Ossip Zadkine after the war.WW 2. Rotterdam's city was bombed during the war and this statue says what it meant for Rotterdam. It lost its heart so this statue has a hole in the middle and the hands are up to the sky in despair.I didn't take a good picture or you could have seen what I meant. I hope I did explain it ok but it was a bit difficult in a foreign language.

I have to say that I prefer the last shots that I put up on this blog, I can handle kangaroos in my garden much more than this on my firewood.........



....I can't tell you how close I came to actually putting my hand on it Uggghhhh! But what makes me laugh was that I ran inside to get my camera whilst shuddering.........

This photo was shot in Srirangapatna from the bank of river Cauvery, The hill seen here is called Karighatta (Black Hill) by the local people, it gets its name because of its dark coloration. There is a small temple on top of this hill.
