Low tide messages

These messages were fun to find!  The tide takes a really long time to come and go (unlike the North Island), so these words along the roadside were visible for a long time before being covered by the sea.

Definitely out of it's surroundings.

winterday (17)

I bought myself some flowers last weekend and they had the most beautiful, bright, yellow sunflowers in the bunch. I vowed to take them out and see the world of snow before they dropped a petal....and I did just that, today.

Postcards from Here and There

Sorry about the glare on the Royal Canadian Mounted Police,
but I just couldn't seem to achieve an angle that eliminated it.
Moving clockwise from the RCMP it's Abu Dhabi, Texas, Ireland, Hong Kong, Ohio, Monterey, St. Louis, and Miami (in the center).
This is hastily grabbed handful from a much larger trove that I have acquired over a bunch o' years.

Please stand for Hymn number...

This is less than half of my hymnal collection.
As a church music director,
I gathered a rather unseemly number
of music books of various kinds.
Hymnals were (are) a particularly
rich reference and source for inspiration.
You can even use them as a daily devotional!

Most of my collection is about to be adopted into another home, though.

Business Cards

Yes.
Business Cards.
I currently have over 50,000 in my collection.
These pictures are from a display at the County Fair a couple of years ago.

However,
I am now in the process of boxing up my collection and sending it
to another collector.
Believe it or not,
there is an International Business Card Collectors group.

From the kids, with love

Even after four years, the kids still gather rocks and shells for me every time we go to the beach. This is just a small portion!

May I take the opportunity to tell/remind you that I have recently also added to
my “collection of blogs” by moving my two main blogs to new addresses:

DawnTreader’s Picture Book continues as DawnTreader’s New Picture Book.
The Island of the Voices continues as Beyond the Lone Islands.
