Sometimes the sky in Kansas provides it's own light show!  This was after dark!!  I was standing in the doorway of my home.

Old Glory

Shot of the flag popping in the wind.

Sunrise

I'm so lucky to have views like this on my way to work every morning of the school year.  This particular morning was just too beautiful to miss.  I pulled over to the side of the road to capture the sun behind the clouds.

Stairs

I took several shots of this staircase and found that I liked the angled shots best.  The straight on, level shots were just too boring.  I think my eye prefers a diagonal line as opposed to a straight one.  :)

Lines of Gold...

This is the largest open cut gold mine in Australia. The Superpit at Boulder, Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. This mine was first taken as a gold lease on June 1st 1896 during the gold rush days. To get an idea of perspective have a look at the dark dot on the top right hand of the photo, that's a full size mature tree..

Canoe

This photo has been one of my favorites for a long time...  I think it's because your eye follows the line of the canoe right into the water.  Makes me want to go for a swim.
