Our celebration tradition

The last few years have found family requests for chocolate cake with chocolate cream cheese icing as a celebration for...anything...birthdays, holidays and, this month, settling into a new house!

The icing in the picture doesn't have chocolate, but I can't find a picture that does--we just eat and regret no photos later!

A Summer Storm coming our way a couple of summers ago.  I pulled the car to the side of the road to take this panoramic.

magnolias

I always love to see these magnolias opening in the spring.

Seagulls in the air

It's the simple things in life that are sometimes the most memorable. Taking pictures of these seagulls eating our Korean snacks was one of those moments.

C is for Candice.
I didn't take this photo, but I love it so much because it shows my oldest granddaughter exactly the way she is-wide open with her heart!  BTW, this was taken in New Zealand.

Shadow Puppets

I know this is really late, but it was so perfect for the theme "shadows" I couldn't not put it up.  At my old school, one of the classes we taught was called "Shadow puppets."    The students' goal was to put on a shadow puppet performance.  But first they had to create a story, write the script, cut out the shadow puppets and then put on a performance. It sounded like a lot of fun, but in practice it was quite difficult. Korean children have no practice in creativity.  These are some examples of excellently done shadow puppets.

C is for CRAZY

I took these photos of my co-workers for a video I made called Gestures Around the World.  They were really good at making the crazy face!
